Discussion Questions
Explore the guide and start facilitating impactful discussions today.
This guide outlines best practices for incorporating True or False exploratory questions into group discussions to foster deeper conversations and self-reflection. Ideally, the group will have a mix of true and false answers to enrich the discussion.
Ideal Group Size: 4-6 attendees at a round table
Meeting Time: 1 Hour
Meeting Structure
1.Introduction:
•The meeting starts with the leader sharing an introductory story or background information on the topic. This should be inspirational and provide focus for the session.
2.Distribution of Questions and Bible Verse:
•Hand out the questions and Bible verse, ENSURING ONLY THE FIRST QUESTION IS VISIBLE while the second question and verse remains hidden. Use a folded piece of paper with the verse facedown on the table.
3.First Question:
•The leader reads the first question aloud.
•Each attendee responds with either “True” or “False.” WITH OUT EXPLAINING WHY
•After all have answered, go around the group again, allowing each person to explain their answer. Ensure everyone has an uninterrupted opportunity to share their reasoning.
•Note-taking during the explanation phase can be helpful for further discussion.
4.Second Question:
•Repeat the same process as with the first question.
5.Discussion of the Bible Verse:
•Unfold the paper and the leader reads the Bible verse aloud.
•Attendees are asked to find a word or phrase from the verse that stands out to them and explain why.
•Go around the table, allowing each person to share their selected word or phrase and their reasoning.
By following these steps, you can create a structured and meaningful group discussion that encourages participation, reflection, and deeper understanding of the topic.
